This Is Your New Mercedes G-Class

Engine upgrades, fresh styling and an all-new trim level introduced for 2016.

Mercedes has just unveiled the G-Class for 2016, with the rugged offroader set to receive a modest raft of upgrades. The most pertinent of these is reserved for the G500, which receives the carmaker’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 currently motivating the AMG GT and C63 AMG. Rated at 416 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, it enables the Mercedes G500 to sprint to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds. Engine upgrades have also been given to the G63 AMG, whose 5.5-liter V8 is upped to 563 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque for a 0-62 mph time of 5.4 seconds.

The 6.0-liter V12 of the G65 AMG now delivers 621 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque, helping the $217,900 SUV to reach 62 mph in 5.3 seconds. The G350d variant also receives a modest boost in output. Cosmetically, the 2016 G-Class benefits from restyled bumpers and standard AMG flared body-color wheel arches for the G350d and G500, with the former getting 18-inch five-spoke alloys as standard.
All models get a revised instrument panel, while a new Color package introduces new shades of solar beam, tomato red, alien green, sunset beam and galactic beam with black trim and color-matching stitching inside. The suspension has also been improved with new shocks and adaptive damping.

Also for 2016, Mercedes has introduced a new AMG Edition 463 trim for the G63 and G65. The “impressive sporty look” includes two-tone leather seats and instrument panel, carbon-fiber and nappa leather trim, a stainless-steel underguard, AMG sport stripes, and exclusive 21-inch alloys. The American company EarthRoamer, specializing in the creation of autonomous mobile homes from pickups and SUVs, has introduced a new model called the XV-HD. The van, valued at 920,000 dollars, made on the basis of a pickup truck Ford F-650 with a double cabin. The basis of the previous model EarthRoamer, trailer XV-LT, was taken by Ford F-550.

The length of the new items was 10.6 meters, width - 2.59 m and height - 3.96 meters. For comparison, the length of the sedan Mercedes-Maybach S600 is 5.5 meters. Size of living space XV-HD is not specified. The van can accommodate up to eight people, beds are designed for six people.

Living Area Homes equipped kitchen, fridge-freezer, air conditioning and heating, as well as tanks and water heater. For a surcharge, the customer can order a washer and dryer. Photographs of the interior the company has not published.

Electrical Power wagon gets a set of batteries that can be charged by solar panels. In addition, the machine equipped with off-road tires army with a height profile of 117 centimeters.

Under the hood is XV-HD 330-hp 6.7 diesel engine families PowerStroke (torque - 983 Nm). The engine is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission TorqShift.

Production models will begin in late 2015.

Toyota is being clever in the way it's marketing the very limited appeal Mirai fuel cell sedan. It’s (probably) referencing a statement by Tesla boss Elon Musk, when the Silicon Valley CEO was quoted as saying that fuel cell vehicles are “so bullsh*t;” Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn is also an opponent of the tech.

Torque limited to 1,100 Nm

A heavily modified Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG by Brabus is up for grabs at Al-Ain Class Motors in Dubai, UAE.

Several days ago we saw a striking blue Mercedes-AMG GT S at Al-Ain Class Motors and now they are back with another gem, a Brabus 800 based on the V12-powered Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG. We checked the press release of a previous Brabus 800 model and the upgrades are spread over two pages as the legendary off-roader has received a plethora of tweaks. Needless to say, the most important is the reworked 6.0-liter engine which now generates a whopping 800 PS (588 kW) and 1,420 Nm of torque (electronically limited to 1,100 Nm) which allows the G65 AMG hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).

All that power is matched with a beefier WIDESTAR body kit with carbon fiber vented hood, roof spoiler, front & rear fender flares, front skirt, front bumper add-on along with extra LED daytime running lights. This particular car also gets full red leather interior with carbon accents, illuminated door sills with "Brabus" logo, as well as a rear seat entertainment system and additional LED ambient lighting.

Audi Forum Neckarsulm currently has on display a heavily customized Audi RS5 Cabriolet.

For those who aren't satisfied with the stock €89,900 RS5 Cabrio, Audi Exclusive has a lot of goodies to provide as demonstrated on this car which wears a Ruby Black metallic paint. It rides on five-spoke 20-inch aluminum cast wheels featuring a rotor design and red accents and has also received satin side mirror caps along with an RS sports exhaust system.

Stepping inside the cabin, this particular Audi RS5 Cabriolet benefits from S sports seats wrapped around

in two-tone black & red leather and Alcantara. The flat-bottomed steering wheel gets an Alcantara chili red lower section while the floor mats benefit from a Crimson look and leather trimming. Rounding off the list of customizations are the carbon fiber accents on the front area of the center tunnel.

Asa reminder, the Audi RS5 Cabriolet packs a normally aspirated V8 4.2-liter engine generating 450 PS (331 kW) and 430 Nm of torque, enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.9 seconds and a 155 mph (250 km/h) top speed or 174 mph (280 km/h) upon request.
