Alfa Romeo 4C Spider makes European debut in Geneva
Starts at £59,500 in UK
The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider in European specification has made its public debut this week in Geneva.
It looks virtually the same as its American sibling which came out in January at Detroit in NAIAS and compared to the coupe it has received significantly more attractive projector-style xenon headlights. It also benefits from a carbon fiber hardtop and can be ordered with an optional Akrapovic exhaust system made from titanium featuring carbon fiber tips. Also on offer is an air intake system made from the same lightweight material while a Giallo (yellow) paint has been added to the range along with fresh alloy wheel designs.
Just like the coupe, the beating heart of the 4C Spider is a 4-cylinder 1.75-liter turbo with 237 bhp (177 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) transferred to the rear wheels via a twin-clutch transmission. It will run the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in less than 4.5 seconds before topping out at 160 mph (258 km/h).
Scheduled to go on sale this summer, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will carry a starting price of £59,500 in United Kingdom.
